Songs of the Year 2010

Here it is. Logwood Burning's first annual list of the best sounds of the year (the word "best" being used, as always, in a purely subjective sense).

Compiling this list was hard work, but it became a lot easier as I ruled out songs that were not actually released this year, songs that I could not find for download, and songs that, upon repeat listening, turned out to actually not be that good.

These are the ones that rose to the top and made the cut, in suggested playlist order. I'm gunna pop in a blank CD-R and burn this shit. I invite you to do the same. You'll thank me later.

1. "Waiting for the End" by Linkin Park (3:51)

2. "Chinatown" by Wild Nothing (3:18)

3. "Hell, Heaven" by Parlovr (4:33)

4. "Miami" by Foals (3:42)

5. "Young Blood" by The Naked and Famous (3:52)

  2. Johnny,
i actually made my end of the year mix tape last night and we have two of the same songs, two more artists the same but with different tunes, and i'm pissed because i totally forgot about the Black Keys album which was awesome, but it's too late to change it now. i'll have to check a bunch of these out. i'm posting mine next week.

  4. You know what sucks? As soon as I posted this list I discover other great songs I should have included. For example, "Like a G6" by Far East Movement. I love that track.
